Well, I have a new project. It came to me while I was in Upper earlier this week, but alas, I could not research it at the time, because I did not have access to an internet connection or the equipment I already had. However, now I am home and I have spent a large block of time researching this project, and I think I have decided to move forward with it. I am going to convert our old computer into a media pc that I can use in the apartment I'll be looking for at the beginning of the summer. Granted, that's not that unusual... a lot of people have been doing similar things lately. The difference is... well, I guess there are actually two differences. The first one is that this computer is a Mac. The second one is that it is OLD. I'm talking REALLY OLD. The only reason this thing has USB and internet connections is that we've added them down the road since we got it. Even so, I think it's going to work.
eBay will be my savior. The parts I need aren't readily available anymore. I'll be purchasing an external hard drive with a SCSI interface (really no longer exists). I'm also looking for a standalone software equalizer to enhance the mp3 and CD players that are already on the maching, so if anybody knows of one, I'd love to hear about it. The point is, as improbably as it is to do it with this machine... I will theoretically have this completed by the beginning of the summer and will be able to listen to my entire music library in any room of the currently nonexistant apartment. I'll keep my progress updated on here, not because I think any of you really care, but because it will be fun for me to write about it and it will help me to remember what I've done and what I still need to do. I may put up some pictures too at some point... but my digital camera is in Westerville, and the equipment is not... so that may take a while.
Well, that's enough useless babble tonight for sure, so I'm going to wrap this one up.
