The nonsensical ponderings of Eric Frisch...

This weekend has been awesome.  I've had the opportunity to play music with some of my favorite people in the world over the course of the last four days, and it's been great.  Thursday night I led worship at OCF... we had to put things together pretty quickly (check out the entry a couple down on this page for more on that), so there were some little things of course, but overall it went very well.  It was a great time of worship.  It's always amazing to see how God can work through us even when we make mistakes.

Friday night I drove up to Hudson with a friend of mine to play percussion for the worship team at a men's conference.  I have to say, this was quite possibly the best band I've ever played with (and that's saying something).  Nine guys, almost all worship leaders, from around the state, came together to play for this event and it was a truly wonderful experience.  Every person on that team is incredibly gifted on their instrument, and the band was just on.  Beyond that, it was nice to hang out with the guys and talk about music and worship and gear and all of those great things.  There were about 500 guys at the conference, and to hear them all singing on Saturday morning... God truly touched me with that.  It reminded me once again of exactly why I do what I do...

As a result, I was pretty pumped for church this morning, and everything went very well there.  I've always been impressed with the willingness of the congregation at Centerpoint to respond to God, but they've really been opening up in the last month or so... that's a really cool thing to be able to watch.

All in all a great weekend... didn't leave me much time to get ready for the week that's ahead, but I'm okay with that.  To close, a couple pictures of the completely weird percussion setup I put together for the conference... everybody said they had never seen anything quite like it, and I'll admit that that made me smile a little bit on the inside :-P
